The BMW Z8 roadster is 25 years old!

As early as 1998, the Z07 concept car delighted visitors to the Tokyo and Detroit motor shows, and a year later the BMW Z8 was presented to the public at the Frankfurt International Motor Show.

Just 10 years later, the BMW roadster has become a recognised classic.

From 10 to 14 September 2009, the BMW Z8 Club, founded in 2005, met in Munich to celebrate the anniversary of the BMW Z8. On 12 September 2009, more than a hundred BMW Z8s lined up on the BMW Welt square, which is home to the BMW museum and high-rise building.

The BMW Z8 roadster fascinates with its thoroughbred body lines, which are reminiscent of its predecessor, the BMW 507. Modelled on its famous ancestor, the BMW Z8 expresses itself through a huge, seemingly infinite bonnet, short overhangs and a chic interior. Behind the classic shapes lies a high-tech filling: a load-bearing aluminium frame with a body mounted on it and a 5-litre V8 engine from the BMW M5 with an output of 400 hp. The BMW Z8 was produced from 2000 to 2003 in a specially designed workshop at the Munich factory and sold 5,703 copies.
